I still have my Kustom Amp T shirt that says “Disco Sucks” on one side & “Keep Music Live” on the other. The war was because the club owners started hiring DJ’s to spin records instead of bands to play live music for the crowd. People just wanted to have fun when they went out & the club scene became fractured during the “Disco Wars” that you are referring to. I have never & will never wear Polyester.

Many music stores closed their doors in the Disco era when bands could find no decent paying gigs & that meant they could not continue to purchase items from music stores! Kustom Amplifiers launched the campaign “Keep Music Live” in the 70′s!
